From Donation to Transplant
The David and Sara Farajun Stem Cell Collection Center has been operating at Ezer Mizion's Cancer Support Center in Petah Tikvah since 2018, the first facility of its kind in Israel established outside a hospital setting.
The center was created with one goal in mind: to give stem cell donors the best possible experience. Rather than donating in a clinical hospital environment, donors arrive at a dedicated facility designed entirely around their comfort and care.
At the center, stem cells are collected from the peripheral blood of registered donors who have been matched with a patient in need of a transplant. Collected units are destined for transplant centers in Israel and around the world.
From the collection center, cells are transferred directly to the adjacent Salomon and Sandra Aizenman Stem Cell Processing Laboratory, allowing the entire process - from donation to preparation for transplant - to take place under one roof. The center operates under Ministry of Health approval, ISO 9001:2015 certification, and in full compliance with international standards in the field.

You may have asked yourself
Is the entire donation process carried out at the collection center?
Yes. From the moment the donor agrees to donate bone marrow, the entire process takes place at the collection center, including the initial eligibility check and the actual donation. The center provides a pleasant, comfortable, and supportive environment that brings together all aspects of the donation.
Where are the stem cell units collected at the center sent?
At the end of the donation, the stem cell unit is transferred from the collection center to the laboratory. There, it undergoes tests for cell count and quality, preparation for transplantation—including initial processing and labeling. Afterward, it is delivered to the transplant center’s courier in Israel or abroad for immediate transplantation in the patient.
What are the center's official licenses and certifications?
The center operates under full Ministry of Health approval as a certified medical facility and holds ISO 9001:2015 certification in compliance with international standards. All relevant official documents are available for review below.
