From Collection to Transplantation
The Salomón & Sandra Aizenman Stem Cell Processing Laboratory opened in 2021 at Ezer Mizion's Registry Center in Petah Tikvah, adjacent to the David and Sara Farajun Stem Cell Collection Center. Together, the two facilities bring the entire donation process - from collection through preparation for transplant - under one roof, under the sole responsibility of Ezer Mizion.
The laboratory is an innovative, fully equipped facility featuring a Grade D cleanroom environment designed for cell processing, and is equipped with advanced technology and a sophisticated tracking system that ensures rigorous quality control at every stage, supporting full traceability, accuracy, and compliance with the highest international standards.
The services provided by the stem cell processing laboratory include the quantification and quality testing of hematopoietic progenitor cells (HPCs) collected from the peripheral blood of healthy donors and intended for bone marrow transplantation, as well as the preparation of cellular products for distribution to transplant centers in Israel and abroad.
The entire process operates under a strict quality management system (ISO 9001), and is directly supervised by the Israeli Ministry of Health.

Additional Information, Licensing & Certification Documents
What is the process of stem cell processing in the laboratory?
Ezer Mizion’s Stem Cell Collection Center and laboratory operate in close coordination to ensure that the collection is efficient, sufficient, and meets the requirements of the transplant center.
At the initiation of the process, the laboratory evaluates a donor blood sample to confirm the initiation of the collection procedure.
During the collection process, the laboratory receives samples from the stem cell donation and performs stem cell count testing to estimate the required collection duration needed to obtain an adequate cellular product in accordance with the transplant center’s requirements. At the end of the collection process, the donor is discharged home, and the cellular product is transferred to the laboratory for further processing.
What are the laboratory's official licenses and certifications?
The collection center and laboratory operate under full approval of the Israeli Ministry of Health as a certified medical facility and are ISO-9001 certified in accordance with international quality standards.
