Ezer Mizion invites you to fill a significant role in savings lives: Establish a personal or community bone marrow registry.

A personal registry is a deeply meaningful way to honor or commemorate someone you love, a living tribute that has the potential to save lives long into the future. When you establish a personal bone marrow registry, every sample analyzed through your donation is registered in your name or dedicated to someone close to you. When a sample from your registry leads to a transplant, we'll notify you personally: you saved someone’s life. Expanding and maintaining the registry carries significant costs. Lab testing a single cheek swab costs 180 NIS. A donation of 100,000 NIS (approximately $34,000 USD) or more establishes a personal registry in your name, funding the analysis of new samples and directly growing the registry of potential donors for patients in need.

Establishing a personal/community registry

Your donation establishes a personal registry bearing your name or dedicated to someone you love and funds the analysis of additional bone marrow samples.

Registry sample encoding and identification

Every sample analyzed through your funding is assigned a unique code and linked directly to your registry.

Finding a patient match

Our system searches for a match between the analyzed samples and patients waiting for a transplant.

When a sample from your registry leads to a transplant, we'll personally let you know - you helped save a life.

Yes, every donation is welcome and contributes directly to the registry's lifesaving work.

Can we sponsor a donor registry as a community?

Absolutely. Synagogues, organizations, and community groups in Israel and around the world have combined their resources to establish a community registry in their name. Every cheek swab funded through the community registry is tagged with a unique code, so when a match leads to a transplant, the entire community receives the news that their collective effort saved a life. If your community is interested, get in touch and we'll guide you through the process.

Will I know who my donor registry saved?

At first, the donation connection will remain confidential, but after one to two years—and with the consent of both the donor and the recipient—a meeting can be arranged where the parties can get to know each other.

The donor registry sponsor may receive details after about a year, depending on the circumstances.
